A PLAN OF ACTION
“Today
we’re bombarded from infancy with images of the wonderful things we
can buy to transform our lives into bliss and perfection…we’ve
created a culture that not only fosters overspending, but makes it
almost impossible to kick the habit.”
– Olivia Mellan
Once we get to know
each other and determine we’ll be working together, it’s time to
take a mental “walk” through your financial affairs. We’ll get a
snapshot of your current financial situation, (assets, monthly or
annual contributions to retirement plans, college funding, income
needs, etc.) and calculate how efficient and how far your current
plan of action will take you.
We’ll look at how many
different investment accounts you have and the annual fees and
expenses. We’ll review diversification, management style and
performance and how that matches up with your risk tolerance, time
frame, goals,
family issues and
upcoming lifestyle changes. It is then my job to guide you to the
plan of action and investment management process that best suits
your needs.
As your needs change,
my ongoing management process ensures that your personal portfolio
will evolve with you.
Many investors may be
satisfied with a simple buy and hold method of investment, usually
dividing their assets into various asset classes, known as asset
allocation. In this case, we will work together to choose whatever
products best suit your particular needs and goals. For example,
mutual funds, annuities, life insurance, long term care insurance,
etc. Periodic reviews will give us an indication as to how this
method continues to benefit you and if you’re satisfied with the
results.
If you’re feeling
impatient and uneasy about the current volatility of the stock
market, you have
plenty of company. But, knowing millions of other people are in the
same boat doesn’t help. You may also be thinking – there’s got to
be a better way! For that reason, many affluent investors are
demanding a more hands-on “active” approach to elevate their
portfolio beyond a one-dimensional product strategy. And, many
investors are looking for someone who will act in their best
interest to manage the risk (losses) in their portfolio. If this is
your preference, discussion on tactical asset allocation, and active
diversification approaches using technical and economic indicators
may be in order.
Remember, a trusted Advisor can offer
you peace of mind and guidance through these difficult times. I
honor and appreciate the trust my clients have placed in me and
continue to do all I can to meet their expectations. Let’s get
together, get to know one another and then discuss “what’s important
about money to you?” Together we will chart your path to
possibilities for your money and your life!
